The mighty Fuh King!
“There was a land, there was a beautiful land
There was a beautiful land called Fuh
And in this land, there was a king
And everybody called him the Fuh King
And the Fuh King did what he wanted to do
I said the Fuh King he went where he wanted to go
Oh mighty, mighty Fuh King
All hail the Fuh,
The mighty Fuh King!”
Brute Force, aka Stephan Friedland is an American songwriter who played in The Tokens (most famous for “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”) in the 1960s. He wrote songs for famous musicians such as The Chiffons, Peggy March and Del Shannon.
He best known song, “King of Fuh” may have not been released, but was greatly admired by George Harrison and John Lennon. Apple pressed 2000 copies of the controversial song in 1969 and re-released on an Apple compilation in 2010 (which was the first time I heard the song and thought it was PURE GENIUS!)
