Happy Birthday Keith Richards

Keith Richards

Good ‘ol Keith Richards was born on this day in 1943.

He’s always been my favorite Stone.

I saw the Stones in the late 1980s, but loved it even more when I saw Keith perform solo in the early 1990s at the Beacon Theater in NYC.

At the end of the show as I was leaving, I saw a bunch of young people hurdled together in the audience, near the back. Turned out, legendary Joe Strummer was there chatting with fans and signing autographs — in the back, like one of the boys — no VIP seat, no front row! I was thrilled to briefly meet the rock legend and get his autograph, which I still have.

See, this is why I love Keith so much — the type of people, even rock legends, he attracts are so down to earth!

And since Keith was born during the holiday season, here’s a fun Christmas tune by Keith:

Run Rudolph Run

  2. Happy Birthday Keith Richards! He is one awesomely cool guy.

I wonder how he is going to celebrate?????? LOL!

I’m so happy you got to see them. They look like they put on a great show.

And Joe Strummer…..wow…..what a day that must have been for you!

    • LOL! What does a 69 year old rock star do on his birthday?

I had so much fun that night. My friend Vinnie actually climbed up on the stage after the show to get Keith’s pick! He held the pick up in the air and everyone cheered for him!! LOL!

Joe was a sweetie. He was so casual, hanging in the back, signing autographs, God rest his punk rock soul! xo

  3. Well, Keith Richards! today Dec 18, you are another year older and you haven’t changed a bit. That’s great because you are perfect just the way you are and Rolling Stones alway Best. Happy Birthday.
