Happy Birthday Cher!

Happy Birthday to Cher who turns 67 today!

Cher has been one of my favorites since I was a little girl. I got to see her perform twice, once in the late 1980s and again in the 1990s (with Cyndi Lauper as warm-up act).

Cher has such a vast collection of work, but here are some goodies off  the top of my head! (And it’s worth looking at every single one of these videos to see her outfits — of course!)

Ground Hog Day

Ground Hog 3

In the movie “Ground Hog” day, Bill Murray kept waking up each morning, having to re-live February 2 over and over and over and over, until he got it right.

Each morning the alarm would go off and he’d hear a very famous song by a most beloved couple. Every day. Over and over and over.

And that’s one song I’d never get sick of!

O Holy Night

Oh Holy Night

I remember the first time I heard O Holy Night as a little girl, on the Sonny & Cher Christmas special and it became one of my favorite Christmas songs. (And there are oh so many!)

I always love the dramatic “FALL ON YOUR KNEES” climax — I get such chills and tears fall from my eyes; a feeling shared with millions, I’m sure.

Here is Cher’s version:

And here are some other amazing versions of the song:
